น้ำมันหม้อแปลงไฟฟ้า เป็นหนึ่งในวัตถุดิบที่สำคัญในการผลิตหม้อแปลงไฟฟ้าแรงสูง โดยมีคุณสมบัติที่สำคัญ 2ประการ คือ เป็นฉนวนไฟฟ้า และ ระบายความร้อน

เป็นฉนวนไฟฟ้า มีความต้านทานกระแสไฟฟ้าไหลผ่านสูง(ไม่เป็นตัวนำไฟฟ้า) ถ้าเทียบกับอากาศแล้ว น้ำมันหม้อแปลงจะทนแรงดันไฟฟ้าได้สูงกว่าหลายเท่า ทั้งนี้ขึ้นอยู่กับคุณภาพของน้ำมันหม้อแปลงนั้น ดังนั้นวัตถุที่อยู่ในน้ำมัน จะไม่เกิดการลัดวงจร

ระบายความร้อนได้ดี น้ำมันเป็นของเหลวจึงสามารถถ่ายเทความร้อนจากวัตถุที่อยู่ในน้ำมันมายังโครงเหล็กของหม้อแปลงทำให้ระบายความร้อนจากขดลวดและแกนเหล็กของหม้อแปลงได้ได้ , ทำให้ฉนวนที่พันหุ้มขดลวดทนต่อความร้อนสูงได้ และทำให้ฉนวนไม่ร้อนจัดเกินไปช่วยยืดอายุการใช้งานของหม้อแปลงให้นานขึ้น

Transformer Oil is one of the most important raw materials used in the manufacturing of high-voltage power transformers. It serves two essential functions: electrical insulation and heat dissipation.

Electrical Insulation

Transformer oil has very high resistance to electrical current flow, meaning it is a non-conductive insulating medium. Compared to air, transformer oil can withstand significantly higher electrical voltage depending on the quality of the oil. As a result, components immersed in the oil are protected from electrical short circuits and dielectric breakdown.

Excellent Heat Dissipation

Because transformer oil is a liquid, it can efficiently transfer heat generated by the transformer core and windings to the transformer tank and cooling surfaces. This helps reduce operating temperature inside the transformer, protects winding insulation from overheating, and extends the overall service life of the transformer.

Transformer oil also helps maintain stable thermal performance, ensuring that insulation materials surrounding the windings do not deteriorate prematurely under high-temperature operating conditions.
